Welcome, Class of 2015!!

Welcome to the U of L, your home for the next 4, 5, 6, or however many years it takes you to get through!   You’re all busy unpacking (I may have even helped you this morning if you were moving into U-Hall) and you’ve got TONS to do before school starts, but I’ve got a few more things to add to that list.

  1. Bookmark www.ulsu.ca on your computer.   You’ll get all of the information on services we offer, upcoming events, and student life on campus you need here.
  2. Get a Fresh Fest package!   If you don’t know what Fresh Fest is, get ready for the time of your life!   There is an article in the Meliorist on it you could read or you could check out www.ulsufreshfest.ca to get more info.   There is a booth selling tickets RIGHT NOW in the Students’ Union building until 3:00PM.   If you miss out on this one, don’t worry, there will be another at the booth fair from 10:00AM -11:30AM on the 6th.   Be there or be an awkward geometrical shape!
  3. If you kids still listen to the radio, check out CKXU (our campus radio station) at 88.3 FM.   They play tons of cool stuff that you won’t hear anywhere else and are playing constantly in my office.
  4. Pick up a copy of the Meliorist, our campus newspaper!   They put out an issue today JUST FOR YOU!   They’re hanging all over campus on the walls (look for the big orange cover) and have some pretty cool articles this week.   Also, submit a “TLF” (Three Lines for Free) at the Meliorist website for a chance to get it published in the coming weeks!
  5. Go to the NSO events tonight and for the rest of the week!   I can tell you now, we at the SU have some exciting news to share with you tonight, so make sure you’re there!
That’s about it.   Oh, and get your books, go to classes and all that other stuff too ;)   Always feel free to come by the Students’ Union office (SU 180) if you have questions and have an awesome first week!
Andrew
