You may not know this, but the University of Lethbridge is largely run by committees. Committees that the ULSU has worked to get student representative spots on. Student representative spots that any student can fill. That “any student” could be you!
If you don’t like the way this University is run, do something about it! The way I see it, sitting on a committee is a much better way to spend the time you’d normally spend complaining, so if you see something you don’t like and want to change, you’ve got the power to!
I’ve sat on a number of committees and have found it extremely interesting to learn how decisions are made at the U of L and being involved in that process can be pretty exciting! There are a handful of committees that haven’t been filled yet (we’ve got room for 30 ish students left) and I want to offer up the positions to anybody out there who is interested!
If you’d like to get involved in making the decisions that will effect you as a student, give me a shout at su.academic@uleth.ca or (403)329-2770 and I’ll get you a list of all the committees you can sit on and short descriptions on most of them. Do it soon though, most committees are filled by September 1st though a number of committees pop up over the school year as well. Below is a list of committees you can be a part of and a number of them are linked to in depth descriptions of what they do!
